The project was conceived through the occupation of the perimeter, opening up the interior and freeing the centre.

The renovation of an apartment on the outskirts of Barcelona aimed to adapt an old dwelling in an isolated block to the current requirements of a new family. The layout responds to users’ demand for flexibility, creating a series of continuous domestic spaces that can transform over time.

The kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms are arranged along the pre-existing walls. A sequence of low furniture elements, together with the sofa, fireplace, and storage, organises the space into geometric configurations defined by visual relationships between rooms. The placement of the main bathroom at the centre of the apartment allows it to be circled, enhancing spatial continuity through different interior arrangements enabled by the opening and closing of sliding doors. All of this reinforces a sense of openness towards the Mediterranean Sea.

The green, red, and blue tones of the enclosed spaces are revealed through the movement of doors and windows. The rest of the apartment maintains a minimalist chromatic palette, where the lighting fixtures are arranged like a constellation.

A minimal intervention with maximum expression.
