Country house in Loroñe

Building a house means embracing everything that comes with living: the relationship with the landscape, the rhythm of sunrise and sunset, family gatherings, the arrival of children and grandchildren. In Loroñe, on the eastern coast of Asturias, this home captures hot summers, rainy afternoons, and mornings by the beach. Set on the edge of a small village, the plot looks northwest to the Cantabrian Sea and southeast to the Sierra del Sueve. The house settles into the slope of the terrain, unfolding across three levels: the entrance and service area, the day zone with kitchen, dining, living room and two bedrooms, and finally the master suite, which opens directly to the landscape.

Conceived as both intimate and expansive, the house establishes a constant dialogue with its surroundings. Spaces open and close with shifting views, aligned with the cardinal directions. Sliding doors, large glazed openings, and continuous axes blur boundaries between inside and outside, creating fluid transitions of light and shadow. White walls, a tiled roof, and blue or white shutters root the architecture in its Asturian context, a place where rain is as present as the tides.
